Support

General

What do I need to run {hi}rollerz?
First of all make sure that your system meets the minimum requirements. You can find a detailed list of prerequisites here. Your system should be equipped with a ShaderModel 3.0 and DirectX 9c compatible graphic card. You should have installed the latest .net Framework (Version 3.5) and the XNA Framework (Version 3.0). Both of the frameworks are included as installation routines in {hi}rollerz. The .net Framework 3.5 needs to be online while installing its components. The installation of the prerequisites takes some time (up to several minutes) ... after everything has been completed, {hi}rollerz continues its installation. The game features the use of XInput devices like the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows which is not necessary but recommended - you can also play with your keyboard. Using a XInput device like the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows may increase your performance on the trails drastically because you will be able to do smoother movements.

Performance

My system is running slow, what can I do?
Try to reduce the quality settings and/or disable features like HDR, shadows or multisampling. (options->graphic settings)

Some parts of my screen are flickering
Check if the game runs in fullscreen or windowed mode. If you are running fullscreen, switch off the vertical synchronization. If you are running in windowed mode, you should set system to vertical synchronization. (options->graphic settings)

I've changed several settings and now the game crashes or does not start up corretly!
You can roll-back the settings to the initial state by starting the game in safe mode. Just click the shortcut "{hi}rollerz Safemode" in your startup menu and everything will be fine.

I've deleted the shortcut for safemode ... how can I start in safemode now?
You can create a new shortcut with the following command prompt: {hi}rollerz.exe /s

Game

The camera is driving me crazy!
Don't panik, your can invert the camera. This setting is per-profile and has to be done multiple times if you have more than one profile you want to change the camera for. (options->game settings)

How can I install a downloaded map?
Just double click the file and the game does the rest for you.

Where do I find downloaded and installed maps?
Please refer to "Where are my custom maps saved?" in the editing section.

My native language is not supported by {hi}rollerz, what now?
We are sorry but our localization is restricted to English, German, Italian, French and Spanish. Sadly we do not own one of those nifty babel fishes Douglas Adams wrote about.

Editing

Where are my custom maps saved?
Your maps are saved in the save game folder in your user directory. If your are running Windows Vista you can find it in "USER\Saved Games\{hi}rollerz\Maps", running Windows XP the game uses the directory "USER\My Documents\Saved Games\{hi}rollerz\Maps". You will find several directories here: Published, Unpublished, Packages and Downloaded.

Sales, Licensing & Serial Numbers

The game keeps starting up in demo mode, what can I do?
Possible reasons for this problem are:
  • You have entered a mismatching serial number. Please try again and check while typing.
  • Are you connected to the internet while registering & activating {hi}rollerz?
  • You have installed and registered the game on another computer. Our licensing system only allows one instance per serial key. If you had to change your system contact our support and send your order number and full name (NOT THE SERIAL NUMBER - we will never ask for serial numbers).
  • Our licensing server is down. Although we do have a reliable hosting service for our licensing server there might be a server-side problem. Please try again later!
